Adding the trim pieces to the Face Frame

This is the book case after all the detail pieces have been added to the face frame.

This is a closeup of the rosette that is attached in the upper corners of each unit.

In these two pictures, you can more clearly see how the crown molding, dentil strip and rosette fit together.

Adding the decorative pieces to the lower portion of the face frame.

These pictures show the steps taken to install the trim on the face frame.

  1. The face frame is ready to receive the decorative detail.
  2. The decorative trim spacing jig is correctly placed on the face frame.
  3. The decorative trim is cut to fit.
  4. The trim is glued to the face frame and tacked in place using small pin nails to hold it while the glue sets.
  5. The jig is removed and any glue squeezed out is removed.
