Assembled Bookcases

The following are images of the bookcase sections and entertainment section that have been assembled, both before and after they were stained. This is not the final look, the doors, knobs, hinges, glass etc., still have not been installed, but it is nice to see the progress of the project.

These above pictures are of the bookcase sections, bookcase one and two.

The third picture shows the assembled doors being trimmed to fit each opening. Because the doors are inset, they were built about 1/16 inch bigger than needed, then one at a time, they were run through the joiner until the fit was correct. You will notice that the top doors are correctly fitted but the bottom doors, while they now fit correctly top to bottom, do not fit side to side. They have not been trimmed hence the overlapping of the doors.

The hinges are also out of place, they are just taped to the face frame so the spacing of the doors would be correct.

This is a picture of the entertainment section. It has been assembled and the next step will be to trim its doors to fit.

The first picture of one of the bookcase sections that has been stained and the clear coat applied. The other picture is of the entertainment section, also finished with the stain and clear coat.

Yes, the color looks different because the picture on the left is in a room with a single incandescent light bulb while the one on the right is in the workshop which is very well lit with multiple LED lights.

This is the two bookcases stained and the clear coat applied.
