Adding the decorative trim pieces to each door

The Miter Sled

This is a custom built miter jig. It is designed to cut perfect 45 degree angles, and you do not have to worry about which is the right and left side of a cut.

It also includes a number of clamps, tracks for clamps that are not stationary, tracks for various stops, and even safety blocks to protect fingers from getting cut.

The extra clamps and safety blocks are necessary because some of the trim pieces being cut are only 1 1/4 inches long and would be unsafe to hold by hand.

After the decorative detail pieces have been cut to length, they need to be sanded. It is usually easier to sand before they are glued in place rather than after.

The picture on the left is of the doors that will go on the upper part of the bookcases; they will receive Plexiglass.

The picture above is a closeup view showing the decorative details up close.

This picture is of one of the doors that go in the top part of the entertainment section. It will also receive Plexiglass.
