Applying the Clear Coat
The clear coat is added to give the piece of wood work some protection, and to give the finish a luster. The finished look can have a matte, semi-gloss or even a high-gloss look.
The clear coat could be vanish, oil, shellac, polyurethane, water based oil-modified polyurethane or polycrylic . For this project I am using the oil-modified polyurethane because of its durability, easy of cleanup and a fast drying time.
Prepping the equipment
First you have to get your protective equipent on.
Then it is time to prepare the spray gun by adjusting the controls so that you have correct air pressure, air flow, clear coat flow, and spray pattern.
Once these are set it is time to apply the finish.
