Crown Molding

The piece on the right illustrates the finished profile. You can see the small triangle piece behind it which holds it at the correct angle to secure to the carcass. The piece on the left is in progress, having only part of the shape, and lacking the dentil groves which will be added in a followup step.
Preparing the wood


Once the wood is milled down to the correct size, it is prepared to run through the router.
This is the router bit that creates the beautiful profile.
Shapping the pieces


Each successive pass through the router gets the piece closer to its final shape.
