Milling the pieces for the Face Frame

In order that the book cases would be identical, all the pieces needed for the face frames had to be milled at the same time.

Before the Planer

The pieces were first cut down close to the finished size on the table saw.

After the Planer

The purpose of the planer is to smooth out the surface of the wood and to mill it down to its final size.

After being run through the planer, the pieces that will make up the face frame are almost ready to be assembled. All the pieces are now 3/4 inch thick, but the widths will vary depending on where each piece goes.
